I like how the gear s3 has the option to show the time all the times and it looks really cool, I wish the new iWatch 3 could do that, I think it was a missed opportunity, sure keep the feature to auto shut off on by default but also add the option to keep the time on all times for the people that want it.

I'm invested in the Apple ecosystem heavily and wish I had some of the S3 features...

I wish. It will come. In the meantime I will enjoy my shiny new iPod in the name of Apple Watch LTE.

I don't have a reason to look down at my Apple Watch if I'm not looking at the display. I don't require an always on display, I can simply raise my wrist to wake the Apple Watch or tap the screen.

Not considering any technological limitations, sure, always on beats activate on raise. But there are technological limitations, and I wouldn't trade even one hour less battery life for an always on screen.

I’d like it just because I don’t typically raise my wrist to check the time on my watch unless I’m standing. Not really a deal breaker, but would be a nice quality of life improvement.

Technical limitations aside, I wouldn't want it. It's a beacon. If I'm in a dark room or in a movie theater, it's an annoying light source.

It should definitely be a feature that can be toggled on or off, I can think of several instances where I would want it on.

I am used to turning my wrist to read time on all my watches. I dont know when i would look at it without turning the wrist toward me

IWA 3. that's a new one. I do wish we had the option of having just a minimalist version of the watch face showing the time consistently.

Presumably, theater mode would solve that problem.

But it's just a fantasy to pretend that batteries don't exist or that high-resolution color e-ink screens do exist yet.

This I agree with. If Apple or to implement an always on Watch face, at least give the option of toggling the on and off for the user. There might be instances where someone might want to use it and then have a disabled at other times.

It would be useful when cycling as right now it's not practical. But, not sure if it's needed most of the time as it is too bright. Plus, it would need to only show messages after a wrist raise as otherwise other people would see your messages as they come in.
