I bought my Airpods Pro 3 on day 1 and I've noticed that they randomly disconnect for 1-2 seconds and then they reconnect. I then have to press play to continue listening to my music. Sometimes this happens twice a day and sometimes it can be days between occurrences.

My Airpods Pro 3 are running what I assume is the latest firmware version, 8A358. They're connected to my iPhone 16 Pro, running iOS 26.1.

I turned on the “Keep Audio with Headphones” setting (at Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity) and the issue still occurs. Its happened as I'm laying in bed with the only other person in the house (my wife) sleeping next to me, so it can't be another device turning on and trying to take over the connection. I'm not sure when the issue started and if it coincides with any software updates. And yes, this continues to happen even after rebooting my phone.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Did you ever get this resolved?

I bought the Pro3s yesterday and today went for a 45 minute bike ride. They disconnected and reconnected a few second later about 8-10 times. My cheap 7 year old BT5.0 ones would do this maybe once every few runs or bikes.

Not with my 3's but my original Pros would do this and make what I can only describe as a 'ball dropping on the ground' sound (boop b-b-boop! plink!) after like 3 hours of continuous playback, then they do the connect 'BLIM!' noise and continue working. My Pro 3's have had no issues whatsoever. I have noticed in the case of my original Pro's that when I hear that 'ball drop sound' the AirPods Pro case is dead (get a red light when placing the Pods in with lid open) and they don't charge. Assumed it was just a 'case battery is dead' thing.

That makes sense and my issues seems to be a bit different. I dont hear a connect or reconnect sound. Its just a drop out and then the music is back. It's also a heavy foot and bike traffic area so lots of BT bandwidth being used. The final time was when I unlocked my truck, which initiates the BT connection in the truck.

I think I may have had a bad BT connection and the Pros were looking to connect to anything that was putting off a BT signal.

I disconnected and then reconnected them to my phone and so far so good but I havent gone biking in that area again so that will be the test for me.

I was not impressed with them at first but have changed my tune, no pun intended 😂 . The ANC is really impressive once you get the fit right.

Oh. That sounds similar to my HomePods when operating in 'stereo pair' mode. If my internet speed drops ever so much, one or both just cut out and stop playing but the Home app (and the paired Apple TV) still thinks everything is alright. In that case it was a speed issue. Never experienced that 'bug' with AirPods either way though.

I have had a few times where mine has just randomly stopped playing and I had to manually press play again.
