Do your cases scratch your phone?

I've got the silver iPhone X. I've got a few cases (Spigen and Apple) which I change around every week or so.
I've found several minor marks on the silver frame but I've also had some pretty bad scratches too. I've never gone without a case.
Has anyone found the same? Are hard cases worse than soft cases? I'm guessing dirt must be working it's way inside the cases

If you read around they polish out on the Silver, i had grey and now silver, i don't care and don't bother to look. Cheap Hard plastic cases would be worse.
I swap between 3 cases. Apple folio, uag plasma and caudabe sheath.

I've got the silver and do polish the scratches out but I was wondering if anyone else had them as bad. Sometimes I've had a couple of real doozys which are very noticeable.
