In the Dock Preferences a number of options are provided by the system to customize the appearance of the Dock.

Is it possible to customize the Dock through a Cocoa Application... in the net I was able to find some scripts which could customize the dock.

Now I am wondering how this can be done in a Cocoa application?

I have OnyX, which has several Dock customisation options. For one, it allows you to use the black Dock that you can normally only use on the sides of the screen at the bottom of the screen (which I use instead of that horrible looking glass shelf Dock). It also lets you show only running apps, can add in a separator between apps you have placed on the Dock and ones you are running that you do not have placed on the Dock, and also has an extra effect for when you minimise apps.

Cool... I will have a look at those third party apps.

I am interested in making my own app which could customize the Dock. Any pointers will be helpfull.
