I am really struggling with getting the dock to appear when i move the cursor to the bottom of the screen. It only seems to appear if i move very fast to the bottom of the screen. Is this normal?

Just keep dragging your mouse down, you don't have to do it quickly or fast. Just keep dragging the mouse down beyond the bottom of the screen

Seems normal. I have the same experience. A quick swipe tells the software you want the dock. I slow gradual move to the bottom of the screen makes the software think you are trying to click on something at the bottom of the screen like the three autocorrect options when typing.

It’s working as normal.Ive found that swiping towards the bottom of the screen instead of pulling(dragging) towards the bottom, brings the dock up every time and fast. I was used to on my MacBook Pro by just pulling the cursor towards the bottom to bring the dock up, but it seems that iPadOS doesn’t want unintentionally dock pop ups and wants a good swipe to know your intention. Ive found keeping the cursor speed on max or one notch below max, helps a ton.

I found all of these kind of gestures like the dock, slide over, or the control center work great when you access them by doing a quick double swipe. Swipe down twice for dock, swipe right twice for slide over, and slide up twice for control center.

I also find the side screen gestures work a lot better when you increase the tracking speed in settings
