Dock issue

Why are my dock items so small- so much space on either side? This is on a S6. When I open an item in the dock it looks normal.

Think I may have fixed it. I noticed my app layout was zoomed in despite zoom being off. I toggled it on then back off and it seems to have fixed both issues. Strange.
