sunfast macrumors 68020 Mar 7, 2006 #2 ClearDock gets you a transparent dock for free. Don't know about icon bouncing.
J jkballer23 macrumors member Mar 7, 2006 #3 you can turn the bouncing off in Mac OSX. System Prefs>Dock>Animate opening applications I think this only stops it from bouncing when opening, not permanently, such as an update window opens it'll bounce to get your attention.

Unorthodox macrumors 65816 Mar 7, 2006 #4 I wish there was an app that would let you shoot virtual bullets at those stupid bouncing icons. *BANG* *BANG* YEEEE HAW. I BAGGED ME A iCHAT. Hmmm.... Maybe I should work on that.... It's photoshop open season. I think transparent dock is worth it.

But I agree when you adium/ichat (or any other chat app.) it gets a little much of the bouncing.
