My friend attempted to watch a movie on my Macbook Pro earlier, but it was from one of those websites - you know, the ones I'm not entirely sure are legit. I think it was SolarMovie or something like that? Anyway, some kind of an installer jumped into my downloads folder as she tried to watch it, and I panicked! I deleted it immediately from my downloads folder, and certainly didn't install it. What are the chances this has caused my Macbook any harm? This may sound stupid but my laptop was such a huge invest that I don't want anything dodgy happening to it! Anyway, no signs of any harm, I'm just being a hypochondriac and wanted a peace of mind.

Thank you for your help in advance.

If you deleted the installer without running it, then it's unlikely to have caused any damage.
