iPhone Does 8.1.1 Patch Jailbreak?

My girlfriend has been nagging me about how she wants to be able to do the cool stuff I can do with my jailbroken 5S, on her phone too. But she has simultaneously been blowing off updating her phone, because it's a nusiance. She's on 7.1 right now, and I said she needs to update soon before they patch up the jailbreak. Anyone know if 8.1.1 has done that? If so, what is the likelyhood they'll jailbreak 8.1.1 within the next few weeks?

I know she can always jailbreak straight from 7.1, but I'm just trying to get her the latest software before jailbreaking and having her stuck for a while. She has a 5 btw.

yes, 8.1.1 patches the jb exploit. update to 8.1 before they stop signing it.

Lol I'm aware. I've been pushing it for a couple weeks now, but she keeps not doing it, so wanted a more specific time frame.

I wish there were a way to save current packages for later use. I'd save like fifteen 8.1 signed packages to ensure I'm always jailbroke... Or sell them to last-minuters.

Yeah, I just don't know if they're going to jailbreak 8.1.1. It took envasi0n a while to jailbreak 7.1, and I don't think they made any other breaks after that.

Damn, I missed the window🙁 I wanted to confirm a sale of my old iPad first before I looked at ordering the new air 2. On the plus side I have a buyer now which is good.

Oh well, at least my iPhone 6 is jailbroken , I just see more benefits with a JB on my iPad.

Yeah, I just don't know if they're going to jailbreak 8.1.1. It took envasi0n a while to jailbreak 7.1, and I don't think they made any other breaks after that.

We got Pangu now--those guys seem very quick to JB

Pangu is not going to jailbreak 8.1.1, but 8.1.1 only patches 3/7 exploits needed to complete the jailbreak

Most likely if you buy an iPad in the next few days you'll get one with 8 not 8.1.1 as the iPad you buy will have been produced and shipped before the update. But the quicker you buy the better.

Download the ipsw of 8.1 and in iTunes, shift click Update or Restore and point it to the file.

If you try to restore to 8.1 and it isn't being signed still will it just give you an error or will it restore to 8.1.1? I'll try it if won't restore to 8.1.1 if 8.1 fails.
