I know anandtech did a review of the i5 v. i7 in the MBA and found that the i5 had a little bit more battery life....

Does the amount of memory in the rMBP affect the battery life? Tests? Reviews? thanks.

No not really. There is a difference in theory but it is so so small. It is negligible.
If you use a lot of memory, the 16GB will actually help battery life because swapping is way more energy expensive than the few extra dram chips.

cpu was more the reason. the i7 is a little more energy-hungry
