Does A Program Like This Exist?

Hi, I am relatively new to Mac I was wondering if there was a program I could use to do this... I want to be able to use my Mac remote with VLC Media Player just to do simple things (volume +/-, pause, play, etc).

iRed lite or Sofa Control should both do this for you.

It should work with the newest version of VLC. My remote has since I updated.

The Apple Remote works with VLC for me.

That was the problem then, didn't have the latest version of VLC. It works now, so awesome! Thanks for your help.
