Does any ad blocking plugin for safari work in SL now?

Either pithhelmet or safari adblock etc etc.

I'm fine with modding the plist if that's the only problem, but I tried to increase the version number max in pithhelmet's plist and it didn't work like it did from safari 3>4.

Apparently custom InputManagers don't work with Apple's 64 bit programs. So most of these Safari plugins are relying on an architecture that isn't there. But, they'll work if you run Safari in 32 bit mode.

So, speed and ads, or... well, slightly less speed, and no ads. Decisions, decisions...

Right click on the application itself (not the dock icon) and check the 32 bit mode box.

Just gonna say, I was skeptical of using a proxy based ad blocker, but Glimmerblocker was completely painless to install and required almost zero config, and works better than Safari Adblock or Safariblock did.

GlimmerBlocker does seem to do the trick. Runs in 64-bit too so the system preferences doesn't have to restart.

Glimmerblocker is okay, except for the grey loading bar that doesn't go away in Safari. That also happened when Safari was updated to 4.0.3 when using Safari AdBlocker before it was fixed to stop that.

Looks like privoxy.org dropped Mac support.
