Does anybody know the R&D cost for iPad or iPod Touch?

Everybody is always talking about the real cost to produce an iPad, and that Apple makes a good profit off their products, but nobody ever talks about resarch and development cost. I was wondering if anybody knows the actual R&D cost for specific products such as the iPad or the iPod Touch. Any ideas? Or where I can find that information?

I don't think Apple has ever released R&D figures.

I saw the numbers 300 million to 1 billion USD mentioned once, I think it was on AppleInsder.com.
