seems like this release gets more flack than iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 as time moves along.
Dunno what it is, but now that the dust has settled and it's a few months past x.0 people on X are getting tired of iOS 26, but less forgiving for Mac since that's an 'essential productivity device' for them or something. IDK.

I just got an M4 iPad Pro that came with iOS 18 and think I might stick with it for a while. 26.2 is much better than 26.0 was on my iPad mini 7 that made me truly regret it for a while, but I dont have a burning desire to upgrade it either.

I don't really want to downgrade my M2 15 inch Air out of laziness, but it's nice that I could if I wanted to.

Anyways, go ahead and state your opinion.

I think the most grating thing is the brightness flicker bug I am experiencing intermittently. Usually a reboot will fix it for a while but then it comes back with a vengeance. Performance and battery life overall seem ok.

...I don't like Launchpad being gone but I will deal. Overall I'm probably in undecided as I dont hate it, but it's mostly nothing really improved either lol

Anecdotally, Gruber is famously sticking with Sequoia, and he's a total Mac fanboy.

Using Tahoe 26.2 on 13” M1 MBP. Works fine, haven’t run into any bugs or performance issues. Yes, it looks a little different. My only real complaint is that Safari colors the title/address bar area of its windows based on the page being viewed, so it’s harder to tell which are private windows and which aren’t.

I’m struggling more with iOS 26. I feel like it now takes me 3 or 4 taps to do things I used to be able to do in 1 or 2.

If you'd uncheck "Show color in tab bar" in Safari settings would it help?

I do like Tahoe, I get everything done with it, I like the look, I don't mind a few quirks because I'm confident they will get fixed over time. There was never a perfect OS. Looking forward to this week's Logic Pro upgrade, Pro Tools works flawlessly. I have a big screen and the OS actually looks gorgeous. I have no legibility issues, except it would be even nicer if they toned down the blurry elements behind search fields - it looks a bit weird sometimes, but that is such a minor annoyance... I do like the new Spotlight, I even like the sidebar and round corners ☺️, the OS feels modern and enjoyable to use. And I like that all Apple OSes now have a unified look.

I don't like it. Functionally, it works about as well as its predecessor, but there are several things that annoy me. 1) The round corners look like crap on my square-cornered Studio Display; 2) The liquid glass overlays, such as the play bar in Apple Music and the Search function in Settings just don't work as well as their predecessors; 3) I found Launchpad much more convenient and customizable than the new Spotlight version. Overall my opinion is "meh."

I don't know if I "like" it or it, I have it installed since release and I continue to use my Mac as a tool just like I did with Sequoia and the previous OSs. Every app I use continues to function and the performance is just as it was before. Liquid Glass is not getting in the way of my day to day usage.
I guess I "like" it.

I like it as much as I like any macOS. It's a tool that I use to get things done. I do like the Liquid Glass interface though. It generally looks good and works well on my devices. I haven't had any clear bugs that disrupted usability. I will say that I'm extremely fast at adapting to new UIs, workflows, etc. and generally really like change. Maybe that's just my ADHD.

I have one on 15 and one on 26, no issues with 26 thus far but the again I don't use much of the os (books, safari, numbers and mail) , my remote hdds and sdds work as expected - I generally find guis annoying in any circumstance so I ignore most minor annoyances as expected for the genre

I had my Mac mini M4 on 15 and my MBA M4 on Tahoe. It did fine but I started noticing some more visual bugs, especially with FaceTime and got tired of it. So I just finished a downgrade. Feels nice to be back to a OS that's familiar and stable. OS26 has potential but not the polish.

glad you're doing this poll; this will show us the approximate number of ppl on this forum who are unhappy with tahoe. will it be thousands? millions? as so many naysayers here insist they're speaking for most macusers. fun times!
All that such (IMO silly) polls tell us is what the few MR readers who both A) see the poll and B) respond to the poll opine. That is a tiny meaningless cohort, and such poll data is otherwise grossly insignificant.

But this is a rumors website, so silly polls are relevant entertainment.

I like the new look and find it better implemented than in iOS. I dual booted Sequoia and Tahoe on one of my M1s for a few weeks and my experience was that 26.0, which I ran at the time, performed a bit better than 15.7 after Tahoe finished all of its work post install (which felt like it took longer than usual, a couple of days in all). So since then I run only Tahoe. I’ve seen a few visual glitches but other than that my experience has been very positive.

I like Tahoe but I do have some criticisms.

-I think that launch pad needs to come back. I don't use it but tons of older relatives do and they're just not getting used to opening things from the application folder (even if docked) or via search. Less tech savvy people get stuck in their ways.

-I think search needs to show any relevant stuff in the first panel, not just by selecting another panel. I look for certain files each day at work and I hate that I can't just type command + space, and the name of the file. Instead I have to remember which keyboard shortcut brings up file search, because my files just aren't seen in the default search window.

-I think the concentric panels (not sure how to describe that) is a little heavy handed in areas. It would be nice to get rid of some of that excess padding and just have a little more window space especially on smaller screens.

Other than those nitpicks I haven't had an issue with it and I think Liquid Glass actually looks nice on macOS (I don't care for it on iOS/iPad OS though).

I like it. Works well for me. I think maybe some people just don't like big changes like this. I will admit that it did take some getting used to. But once I got used to it, it actually is more efficient than Sequoia was with Safari extensions and shortcuts. The shortcuts in particular were well thought out and implemented.

I still dislike the removal of Launchpad. I have a lot of niche tools I use once in a blue moon, knowing in what folder it is was just as useful as it is with the Home Screen on iPad. For new macOS users it's a hurdle, for older folks it's disengaging.
Straight up not offering an option for them to have a transition time of sorts is a slap in the face of many users.
I also dislike the LG lock screen clock. Sometimes repeating numbers look different.
There is also STILL no proper handling of menu bar items beyond the notch and Ice doesn't work anymore!

The only feature I appreciate and actively use is the customizable Control Center. Took them long enough.

i dunno, i would think that the ppl who post on the tahoe forum will see a poll on the same forum 🤔
