Does anyone actually like macOS Tahoe?

I don't 'like' an OS. I just use it. I don't 'dislike' an OS either. These things are too mature to make any sort of difference to me.

That’s how I feel about Microsoft Windows. I regularly switch from Windows to various flavors of Linux to macOS (usually each day). It’s always nice to get back to using macOS even if it was only some hours with other operating systems.

I don’t dislike any operating system, but I do like using macOS.

You make music with headphones? which headphone?

I bought Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro‘s. They are studio referencing headphones with which you can hear very clearly, but they aren’t the best for actual listening.

Out of the releases of MacOS, Tahoe is the only one I've ever encountered glitches on. It seems like they dropped the ball when it came to releasing it.

I can certainly say I feel iOS 26 just looks different, are there really any new useful big stuff? Makes me feel Apple is turning into Microsoft-"let's move everything around and make it look different so it seems BRIGHT and SHINY and NEW but actually does nothing better for the users" (and in Windoze' case, "oh but let's leave the old stuff in there because we're chicken to take it out since disgruntled users may try to assassinate us because the new is not really as clear as the old."

Tahoe...it's hard for me to comment because I just got this MB Pro and am running it in black mode instead of light like my MB Air. Personally I hate all this Spaces and other sh!te like the one where all my windows pop out at once, I hit that stuff by accident. But there it is for others if they want I guess. The much ballyhooed Liquid Glass, what the hell IS that, I don't even know.

I'm more bugged why is Safari such a memory and energy hog compared to Chrome and Firefox (and before you say just don't use it I use each browser for different stuff, home and work etc).

Or hey, let me recall what a friend once said about Windoze: "if they spent a bunch of time optimizing instead of making it just different, they could slim it down 2/3 and it would run faster and use less memory." Gee I remember some release of was it OS X where it actually took up less space and IIRC ran faster. Can we get back to those halcyon days?!?

seems like this release gets more flack than iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 as time moves along.
Dunno what it is, but now that the dust has settled and it's a few months past x.0 people on X are getting tired of iOS 26, but less forgiving for Mac since that's an 'essential productivity device' for them or something. IDK.

I just got an M4 iPad Pro that came with iOS 18 and think I might stick with it for a while. 26.2 is much better than 26.0 was on my iPad mini 7 that made me truly regret it for a while, but I dont have a burning desire to upgrade it either.

I don't really want to downgrade my M2 15 inch Air out of laziness, but it's nice that I could if I wanted to.

I think the most grating thing is the brightness flicker bug I am experiencing intermittently. Usually a reboot will fix it for a while but then it comes back with a vengeance. Performance and battery life overall seem ok.

...I don't like Launchpad being gone but I will deal. Overall I'm probably in undecided as I dont hate it, but it's mostly nothing really improved either lol

Tahoe Added a Finder Option to Resize Columns to Fit Filenames

The unpolished version of the feature we have today only reiterates my belief that Tahoe is a mistake to be avoided. It’s a good idea though, and there aren’t even many of those in Tahoe.

Anecdotally, Gruber is famously sticking with Sequoia, and he's a total Mac fanboy.

My Mac is still on Sequoia but I did upgrade my iPad. iPadOS 26 does actually introduce new features that are useful on a 12.9" iPad Pro with a trackpad and keyboard. I was forced to upgrade my iPhone because Apple stopped supporting the previous version of iOS on iPhones that can install iOS 26.
