I always notice it on movies... I believe for example "I Love You, Man" had mostly all the Apple logos covered. Never seen it on a personal laptop except now with that commercial going into play.

Usually when you see it covered in movies abd shows its because of licensing issues.

I cover mine up as a minor detterent for would be theives. I actually place stickers with fake damage all over the body to make it as unattractive as possible. I do the same with my DSLRs.

It's almost like they are ashamed of having an Apple and are trying to cover it up.

Too bad everyone knows Apple for having white hardware. :D :p

White? All my Apple notebooks except for one have been silver.

It almost defeats the point of having an apple computer, but We cant controll what they think, so we should just let them be.

The purpose of owning an Apple computer is the glowing apple on the back? Wow, I learn something new every day. I guess I'll just have to sit it on a shelf and let it glow away then go purchase a Dell to computer on.

The thread was originally posted in 2006, Apple has changed their design quite a bit over the past 8 years or so. Back then all of the consumer level products were white.

I put a red sticker on it. It's the same shape as the apple, but smaller, so when the light is on it looks like a glowing red apple. I also have a decal on it that says "LOVE" that surrounds the Apple logo - it looks like the "LOVE" installation in NY.

Ya, because thats why we buy Apple computers...to have glowing corporate logos on the lid. Hilarious. Some people cover it up because they perform in dark environments and the light is distracting. Others don't want to be corporate billboards. Its whats under the hood that matters not some illuminated logo. I've never covered mine up before but I will probably do so on my next machine (for performance reasons).

Yep. That's my reason. I tether my camera to my air during studio shoots and I don't want to risk either distracting my subject or contaminating the light in my set with the bright white light.

It's a computer. A tool. Not a fashion symbol. Get over yourselves and stop being so vain. :apple:
