I do but because of work. I have dropped my phone many times or had it flung in my patrol car when I am driving lights and siren and I have to drive more tactically. That is why all of our work phones come with an otterbox. My personal phone now always has a case as I have shattered my screen or dented it.

I would be happy to use this handset without a case if it weren't for the chrome edges which scratch super easily!

No case for me since the days of 3GS. Only a thin wrap protector on the back for scratches, I am not dropping the phone types.

I have Applecare and use a case for a couple of reasons. First, when I upgrade I sell my current phone and I usually get good money as they're in mint condition. Second, I'm not mystical, I can't tell when/if I'll drop my phone so yeah I use a case, but I don't think I'd be nervous without it.

Fun history:

I was *obsessed* with cases from the iPhone 3G-4S days. Early YouTube case reviewers was what started it. I bought tons of cases from different brands looking for that perfect one. It was expensive, a little nutty, a little fun but my phone always came out pristine.

When the iPhone 5 dropped with the aluminum body I said screw it—went with no case or screen protector at all. It was always a little dinged up but people still bought it second hand and didn’t care much about scuffs or dents as much as I thought.

I went caseless with the Plus models before they went with a glass back and they ended up looking pretty dinged up. I think because of the size of the phones, it was more prone to accidents, knocks, etc. I also ended up getting microscratches on the screen with a few normal scratches. :(

I have an 8 Plus now and I didn’t want to go with any case.... but it’s been so long since I’ve used/seen what cases look like do that it was very surprising how innovative, thin and protective they make these cases now. I didn’t know cases also went through technological changes in terms of manufacturing. And tempered glass screen protectors!!! Back then all I had to use were plastic ones, and while they worked and I loved them—they never felt 100% like glass. That’s changed.

Also: these days... no one really cares what phone you have. Flexing with a XS MAX is fun for like a week and then no one cares. There’s people walking around with $1,500 powerful Samsungs as well. ‍♂️

I say: use a case if you don’t want your phone to be beat up. And when you’re home, take off the case and use it bare. Best of both worlds IMO.

I have a skin on the back of my Xs, that's it. I also have AC+, so I don't really worry about small stuff like dropping it, especially when I'm protected should something happen to it. I certainly would worry about it much more were I not to have my Xs protected by AC+.

I have no case/skin/whatever on my iPhone SE and I don't care. But that's also why I bought an iPhone SE.

Small investment = small risk

No.
No I don't.
It is a phone. I use it without a case, without a sleeve, without a glove, without a condom… it is just naked.

According to Apple's Sales PR guff apparently it is really great engineering, super thin, at the edge of nano technology.

Why am I going to hide it in a piece of thick plastic or "leather"?

If you drop it and it breaks, buy another. You have the insurance, no?
But do you literally feel nervous as opposed to just feeling nervous?

I definitely feel nervous, but it might be metaphorical. Will get back to you once an English professor gives it a look…

you do you i guess for me tho, hell no lol i need a case and keeps phone in great condition which i also like

I’ve used all my iPhones without a case including my X. Occasionally they ha e tried to commit suicide and leap from my hands but I’ve caught them… ******** myself in the process.

Because the XR is a lot bigger and heavier than my 6 I used this time only a bumper and a protective front glass. After watching some of these “drop” videos is looks like the phones are mostly falling to the edges and the display is broken because of the force that is applied to the frame. For these cases a bumper should help....

I have to use a case, some idiot put a raised camera on the back corner of it and made it annoying to use on a flat surface...

For this problem a bumper might also help because is has „ears“ in the corners that lifts the iPhone above this camera bump....

I was looking at the skins on DBrand, a couple of nice ones on there and they seem to flatten the back out without having to use a case. I really don't want a case, but I do want it protected.

Edit: Actually ignore that, it does not flatten it out now I have looked at the images more closely.

$1300 all- glass phone, yeah I’m going to be nervous using it without a case, especially with no AppleCare and a desire to use it for 3 years minimum.

My XS Max is rarely in a case: I love how it looks, feels and handles without a case. I keep a thin, clear case in my vehicle for times when I'm in a riskier environment like, for example, at a crowded high school football game where there's lots of jostling and concrete.
