I never use that thing on my 10 yo Lenovo Thinkpad.

I'd rather see a quad core chip and dGPU in 13" than wasting extra cash for something that's gimmicky at best.

If anyone can actually explain the benefit of such a device beyond "Moar securitizes" I may be tempted to consider thinking about how there's a small possibility that such functionality might be useful.

I had a HP once with fingerprint sensor
Cool like only the first day. Hope Apple never cramps it in a rMBP

If Apple starts copying HP then they really are doomed :D

I'd like to see how well the fingerprint sensor works on the iPhone before even thinking of wanting one on a Mac.

I would not call it copying. Someone has to be the first with everything.

WAs apple the first computer with a monitor or HDD or SSD or power button or power cable? If not I guess they're copying.

PS. I do NOT want a sensor on Mac's. But if others do I have no problem with it.

I was joking around. I agree with you about not wanting a fingerprint sensor on Macs. But the pictures were of HP laptops :D

No.

I had one back in 2008 on my Dell. And as mentioned, it "works somewhat" at best and "it takes both mine and my dad's finger prints as being the same person" at worst.
