I have no 5G or WiFi Calling since swapping to an eSIM during setup, even the relevant menus have disappeared in Settings. My network (EE in the UK) second line tech support insist that the eSIM is perfect and I must have a faulty new iPhone 14 Pro so I need to take it up with Apple.

First of all though I am to go into one of their stores to get a replacement SIM because resetting the iPhone will delete my eSIM and they say there is no way to activate a replacement once it's been deleted (as you need to be sent an activation code over their network). Or they can send a replacement SIM card in the post at my cost.

And all this is from the network which is most advanced with supporting eSIMs in the UK. Can't help thinking that Apple are a bit premature trying to push everyone onto eSIMs...

No issues 14 PM 256 Space Black. Enjoying the new device. Enjoying iOS 16.
There are software bugs but that’s the nature of software.

Well, they're doing this to force consumers to use eSIMs which puts immense pressure on carriers to improve their implementation or lose a lot of customers real quick. While this will be a pain in the beginning competition will make sure that carriers get off their butts and actually improve their service ;)

No issues at all. Activation and transferring data from my previous iPhone worked flawlessly, even without first updating to iOS 16.0.1.

Nothing but a great experience so far with my iPhone 14 Pro. I didn't Preorder and just walked into BestBuy this past Friday and bought it! Got super lucky I guess! How is everyone feeling about Dynamic Island?!

The only issue I have on my 14 Pro is when my battery gets down to 20% it isn’t asking me via a pop up to put it into battery saving mode, anyone else have this issue?

I’m getting the (battery low) warning in the DI but no pop up at all for the option to turn it on.

Adam.
Why not use an automation in the Shortcut's app? You can program your phone to run the automation when the battery drops below whatever percentage that you pre-designate. I have it set on my 12 Pro to go into power saver at 39%.

Cheers, I’ll take a look and set an automation for it, seems easier and not waiting on a popup 👍🏼

So far, no issues with my 14 Pro Max 256 Deep Purple. Love DI and AoD (which I turn off at night using sleep focus).

Yeah, although EE is the only one of the four UK network operators supporting eSIM Quick Transfer so far, and now that it's gone wrong they're insisting it's an Apple problem not theirs.

I went along with the transfer as it would be handy to have the SIM card slot free when travelling so that I can pop in a local pre-paid data SIM rather than pay for roaming. Sounds like I have to go back to a physical SIM card though, at least temporarily.

Barbados as an example has two network operators, neither of which appear to support eSIMs. Who knows when they might do so. If you visited using an iPhone without a SIM card slot you'd be forced to rely on roaming, which is particularly expensive there.

No problems with my 14 Pro. I’m even running the public beta of 16.1, and have none of the reported problems.

It’s hard to get a good idea of the scale of the problems in a forum like this, since posts like “hey, I got my new iPhone, switched everything quickly and easily, and am not having any issues,” aren’t too common. People mostly post for commiseration, advice, or validation.

No issues with my 14 pro max. It is a bit larger than my 11 pro, but I think I’ll get used to it in time

I like the Dynamic Island. I was on a 3hr call and looking at the DI and how it reacts with calls. Pretty cool.
