Does anyone have experience with Samsung 256GB SSDs?

Actually I just bought the MMDOE56G5MXP but new for 300€.

... well, this model was out of stock so I took the same as yours I also think that they have the same performances. The information from Tom's HW forum is BS I think. All the docs I found about those two models have the same specifications.

So I received my SSD today. Is there something I should know before installing it ? Or can I just put it in my MBP, format and treat it as a regular HDD ?

So I have it installed.

1st thing I want to check is that it is the model that I ordered. Where am I supposed to see the "MMDOE56G5MXP" model ? The ebay seller removed the sticker off the disk in case the package was opened by the customs so that I don't have to pay taxes.

I have the photo of the disk before he send it and there is the "MMDOE56G5MXP" model . The serial number matches the one that I see in System Profiler. So I guess I can conclude that I have the correct model

Btw, here is my 1st bench. It's pretty impressive how everything is fast !

It is amazing how everything seems to jump to attention with the ssd.
