idle friends on iChat now display how long they have been idle. I don't remember that before...

There's an option in iChat, that's been there ever since I can remember, that says something like "Let people know how long I've been idle". Your friends probably have that selected.

(The option might be the other way around, but it's something like that)

oh. Still wasn't there in .6, and nobody else is on iChat.

Few things I've noticed:

1) Energy Saver profiles under MenuBar icon showing again.
2) New light bulb icon for Energy Saver preference pane.
3) Shared computers on network showing again in Finder sidebar.
4) Can bring up web-based printer setup utility again for my Canon iP5200R.
5) Can printer again to said printer...wirelessly!!! (lost the ability for whatever reason in 10.5.6)

Thankfully I have not had any of the issues some of the others have had with the update *knock on wood* :)

No difference for me.

What was working is still working.
What was broken is still broken.

:(

I'm getting the old iTunes unknown error -15000, when using AirTunes, since update.

Do you have a solution for this already. I am searching and searching but i cannot find a solution.
(airfoil is a work-around but i want to use airtunes as it is mend to be)

I've noticed slightly better battery life (Macbook SR 2.2, 901 cycles, 2-3 hours charge).

When I installed, I got the blue loop (combo update). However I reinstalled OS X over the weekend, and when I installed the combo again I had no problems. Also strangely, the better battery life only came about after the reinstall.

Unless I'm a total idiot.... it seems 10.5.7 took away for the power button on the monitor to open a window for Sleep/Shutdown etc.... I'm pretty sure I know where to look for that choice.... but I digress.....
I like the good old shutdown dialog, but I press Ctrl-Eject to get it, then Enter to shutdown, or "S" to sleep (even in spanish system in which sleep doesn't begin with an "S").

2 improvements: better battery life in the multibody macbooc pro, and the solution to an annoying problem with EyeTV taking control of the Apple Remote at startup. Now I can manage itunes or the system volume in the morning when my iMac awakes me with music.
2 problems: Time Machine giving errors when trying to do a backup in the same drive than 10.5.6, and the Screen Sharing application not connecting to my iMac at home from my office with the Macbook, both in 10.5.7 now.

In Mail, under the Window menu, has there always been an Activity window?

I'm assuming it's always been there and I'm blind seeing as it hasn't been mentioned as new anywhere.

Monitor resolution detection issues.

I noticed changes directly.

After moving to 10.5.7 with my 2008 Mac Mini
which is being used as a media hub to my 37' Samsung
LCD TV we no longer have detection/support for 1360x768.

Which means everything looks crap.

I did a complete re-install of the original 10.5.4 disks
and a time-machine on my user data. Detection works
directly like before and even with 10.5.6 which I plan
on moving up to (again) soon like before the recent update.

At least I have HighDef again for all my films. But what
a pain in the arse.

The update for my MacBook Pro worked fine with 10.5.7.
And also for the standard 19' second Samsung monitor.

Noticed (How could I not!) complete inability to open an URL that uses Flash in Safari 3.2.3. It says I have to install the latest version of Flash and points me to the Adobe HP. Camino and Firefox work fine at that URL and I already have the latest Flash installed (ver 10 for Mac). I do not use Safari normally, just wanted to check the URL, a test version of a new translation (from Japanese to English).
Nothing else seems wrong and overall 10.5.7 seems solid.:D
