I recently switched to using a laptop exclusively. My dad has always used a laptop. My mom uses a desktop as well as my sister, though my mom has a netbook if she needs a computer on the go. Most of my close friends use laptops exclusively as well, although some do have an imac sitting in their guest room in case they need some extra power one day, or to allow guests to sign on.
Next time I get a computer, I am expecting it to be a macbook pro 15", unless, of course, I need Windows for some reason, and I can't afford that macbook.
That being said, I primarily use my laptop as a desktop, with the occasional stint in the recliner. But the portability for me just can't be matched, especially considering I am going to college in a few months.
That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to having a desktop again, especially if I was editing film or photos in one central area, and not having to move around. I like the idea of being able to work where ever I need to, though, and again, thats why the laptop won, in my case.
