Does anyone know a good place to buy an SSD replacement for a 2013MBP?

Hi all,

I'm going to give my old 2013 rMBP away to a friend. I'm removing the original 1TB SSD and will put it in an enclosure to use as an external HD. I want to replace it with the cheapest (low cost) SSD available (a 256GB SSD). I've found SSDs for MBPs from OWC, but they are still kind of pricey.

Is there anywhere to buy a cheap, bargain-basement SSD for a late-2013 MBP?

SSDs for PCs seems to be so cheap, but SSDs that work in Macs appear to be very expensive.

Any links/names would be appreciated!

Get a nvme drive and Sintech adapter, update to the latest Catalina release using the original internal SSD, install replacement, install latest macOS, and disable hibernate mode 25.

its look good on paper, just for wait reviews. Ive pick Sabrent rocket for lower power consumption ( better battery life) not as fast as Samsung 970 Pro but excellent overall balance (speed and battery life) with my 2015 MBP 13".

This thread goes over which standard NVMe drives work and adapter, which as Audit13 says, will be Sintech.
