the two 3g models (8 gb & 16 gb) won't be different in size, but both will be slightly thinner than the original at the edges, slightly thicker overall.

the only difference is on the 16gb there is one extra 8gb chip which is very small anyway so it shouldnt make any difference.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A345 Safari/525.20)

Incorrect, it is a single chip. The 32gb Touch has 2 16gb chips.

The first iPhone 16GB wasn't any bigger than the 8GB. Why would this be the case now?

The touch doesn't have the cell phone hardware inside so there's extra space for 2x16gb chips

32gbs are too expensive at present but I'm sure we'll see 32gb iPhones before 2009

I think I read that the 32gb touch is the same size as the 16gb touch.

If that will be the same for the 32gb iPhone (if it comes at all) is anyone's guess, as there are more components in than the touch.
