if I remember correctly, Apple disabled it on 13" rMBP, something to do with people returning perfectly fine LG screens for a Samsung screen.

you can open color sync utility > Devices > Displays > Color LCD > open Factory Profile > scroll to the bottom > open Apple Display Make and Model information > look at the Manufacturer and Model information
And why would they not disable the r15inch where it seems nearly all the problems are?
