Why?????

Because you need to loop safari every 15 seconds for 11.1 hours everyday?

Ok, I agree battery life is lower if going by the link you posted above, but for daily use, looping safari every 15 seconds and getting 7.4 hours battery is still good....

Battery life will improve as upgrades are made available.... Have faith......

That's still good and it'll improve? Yeah back to what it originally was right??? How about they get it right the first time. I'll keep mine getting GREAT battery life like it did out the box and I expect from it. You wanna trade a little battery life for fancy animations that's fine. I'm jailbroken I can make my phone look like iOS 7 and still get 6.1.2 battery efficiency. I'll update when it's actually polished.

This is an improvement after one battery charging cycle. Also after I did another clean install a day ago. Hope it stays.

Installed on Wednesday, had massive battery problem. Things were fine Thursday and Friday, but issues started up again late yesterday. Was this anyone else's experience?

Nope, my battery has actually gotten better. Then again I was in the beta, my battery was lasting for 3 hours max usage. Now it's back up to 7-8 hours usage, including some LTE usage.

Turn off background app refresh. I had issues hardcore, but it seems ok now. I will know more at the end of the day.

I find that my i5 seems to get decent battery life for the first 5% and then it gradually worsens. The last 30% drains much quicker than the first 30%, the battery percentage reading is not linear at all. Oh and by the way, for the last four recharging cycles I have drained the phone until it switches itself off so this isn't a calibration issue. I have now done 5 drain/charge cycles on iOS7 and am consistently getting 1.5 hours less usage than I did on iOS6 and that is with the exact same usage patterns.

Off, yet still draining. I literally SAW my phone drop percentage points within minutes (thanks to waiting in line at Starbucks).

After disabling various features (that I really didn't need), my battery life is where it was while using iOS 6 (7-8 hours on a fully charged battery). With all features enabled, I was getting a mere 5 hours of battery life.

Can anyone direct me to a thread that talks about things to do to prolong battery life? I've seen a few for older models but I'm looking for the 5S (which I'm assuming is the same generally as the 5). Thanks!!

I was able to increase battery life by 25-30%. Here what I did:

1. Let the battery drain completely until phone switch off by itself and charge it overnight

2. I disabled the frequent locations in locations services

3. I disabled notification center on the lock screen.

4. I stopped using Facebook app but use Safari instead. There are reports FB app might be the culprit.

I'm not sure which of the above have done the trick but I'm pretty sure battery % reduced decreasing by stopping using Facebook app. Anyway.,,got close to 30% more battery life.
