Actually, Apple recommends you still do this. It does make a difference and has nothing to do with the battery. It calibrates the software monitoring it.

Because you need to loop safari every 15 seconds for 11.1 hours everyday?
Ok, I agree battery life is lower if going by the link you posted above, but for daily use, looping safari every 15 seconds and getting 7.4 hours battery is still good....
Battery life will improve as upgrades are made available.... Have faith......
Installed on Wednesday, had massive battery problem. Things were fine Thursday and Friday, but issues started up again late yesterday. Was this anyone else's experience?
Turn off background app refresh. I had issues hardcore, but it seems ok now. I will know more at the end of the day.
