It seems its the norm for new model Macs, tons of flex in the keyboard. My mac from 2011 has zero flex even if I press on it with one finger and put most of my body weight on. I was in Bestbuy and the demos had horrible flex from even just regular typing. When I pounded on it, it flexed like a cheap $300 laptop made of plastic. Unnaceptable IMO, but maybe some prefer the flex?

I truly have no idea what you are talking about. When I was working at Best Buy (up until a few weeks ago) I specifically brought people to the MacBooks to show them what a keyboard without flex feels like. Night and day when compared to the rest of the laptops in the store.

Perhaps you're referring to the slightly less key travel that the keyboard have had for a year or two now?
