Hi, i am a long time PC user who finally got frustrated, and i am switching to a 20" iMac tomorrow. So, i was hoping to pick up Call of duty 4 and Warcraft 3 battle chest, and i was wondering if anyone stil;l plays WC3 online through OS X? Would i be better off just running through boot camp? thanks, noob616

Yup. I do for one. And everyone connects to battle.net, PC and Mac. So I wouldn't be worried about no one playing.

Really? that takes away all my worries. i've had it for PC for ages, but my brother busted the disc (FT) and i lost ROC 3 years ago. i can get battle chest for 40 bucks anyway. i never knew both connected to battle.net
that's awesome. but i just want to know if i should buy for OS X or run through boot camp. and same question for COD 4

Most games run better in bootcamp but that being said, I suggest you try them in OSX first to see how they run on your machine. The difference in performance varies from game to game.

i think i'll get cod 4 through boot camp, but wc3 in OS X
cod4 is a demanding game, whereas WC3 is almost 6 years old and a brand new mac should have no trouble with it (nor should any computer)

great thinking here although I don't think CoD4 will have much issue as most recent macs can run it w/o hiccups. Also you don't have to look for specific Warcraft III as Mac and PC installers are in the same package.. if you didn't already know. so you can install on both and decide which you prefer.. I would think you'd like to stick with OS X so you don't have to switch and still be able to do other things while the game is open.. at least that's how I feel. If there's a Mac option, I tend to go for that first. Although I have bootcamp for the PC exclusives.

I use Boot Camp now. I can use several utilities like banlist and a nice little kick utility that are unavailable on the OS X side. From personal observation the game loads maps 2x faster in XP.

I have yet to have any problems gaming with my mac but I don't really have any high quality games. All I have is SC:BW, WC3:TFT, Q3A, D2:LOD, and Spore.
