I've tried but when ever I'm in my room at night it puts it to 0% brightness and that makes it really hard to see. Is there anyway to set a lowest brightness setting on auto brightness so it only goes down to say 30% ? I just ring it really hard to use.

Set to 50% and on and it works fine

Lots of people use it. It sounds like yours is being extreme, though. I've never had that issue. If anything my problem is that it often stays a bit brighter than I want in dark rooms.

I have the slider set at about 50% - 60%. What's yours at?

Auto-brightness is effective for those who's eyes can adjust to the default setting. For instance my wife has her brightness on 50% or higher all the time, even in the dark. My eyes cannot take this. My brightness is set around 40% regularly and at 25% or less in the dark.

That's odd that it goes all the way down to 0%. I like my screen bright so mine's at about 75% with Auto-Brightness turned on.

Nope as it is annoying to me and my Brightness level is always around 25-30% never higher, otherwise it bothers my eyes

I have a similar experience to the OP - auto brightness sets mine dim enough that it's very difficult to see (must be 0%) in complete darkness. So yeah, I don't use it. I wish it worked better for sure, or at least that brightness was easier to adjust. I don't understand why they don't use the same adjustment feature that's on the ipad (double click home button, swipe right - brightness and volume slider bars).

Instead, I keep it near 50%, so at night I have to leave my app, click settings, brightness, adjust...

I've actually experienced better battery life turning it off and setting brightness at a set level... such as 40% +/-
