I have several e-mail accounts for personal and work accounts. I use different notification tones to know if an e-mail coming through is important or not. I'd have to say since iOS7 at least there is a weird bug where sometimes a sound comes through for another e-mail account. I have tried wiping the phone clean and at first it works ok for maybe a few days then it goes back to being mixed up. Anyone else notice this?

Yes. For my work account, I have notifications disabled with the exception of email from my VIP group.
I find that I get notifications for non-VIP email occasionally, if not regularly. It's definitely buggy.

I have the same problem, but without using any VIP settings.
I have two accounts, work and personal, with two different settings for notification sound and vibration. Sometimes I get a notification for a personal email but instead what I received is a work email. Very annoying and don't really know how to fix it.
