you know I sort of forgot about it using smaller devices like the OG se and a 6s/7/8 but now that I am with my 11, I miss my one handed typing and I sort of rediscovered it.
Does anyone use it?

it seems so tricky and convoluted to me using it.

Sometimes if I think of it I use it. And it typically works very well but most of the time I forget it's there.

I tried using it when iOS 13 betas first released and I’ve used it to show friends. Other than that I haven’t touched it in my daily use.

Used it all the time when I was using Samsung and I liked it then. It’s pretty bad in iOS though. Often gets the word wrong. Possibly user error but never seen this with the Samsung. Definitely needs tweaking but it is fairly new to iOS.

Have you tried a different swipe keyboard like Gboard?

Sure. I used it mainly with the Samsung and briefly in iOS. It’s definitely better than iOS’ swipe but I don’t want to lose out on the app row in the iOS keyboard which I use a lot. Plus I don’t like redundant apps/features which is what drove me crazy with Samsung and their ecosystem. Since we’re on the topic, wish iOS had a dedicated number row. Swipe in iOS at least mitigates that to some degree

I use it religiously and love it. Seems straightforward and to me is better than when I tried GBoard and SwiftKey, mainly because I'm so good with 2-handed typing on the iOS keyboard and GBoard/Swiftkey weren't as good.

But when I'm using my X one handed, which is probably 90% of the time, I use the built-in swipe. It's fast and I have very few errors.

I often use swipe as I find it a lot quicker than pecking at the keys.

Although I find GBoard to be a lot more accurate at guessing the words I’m trying to swipe than the default Apple keyboard. I don’t love the idea of having a Google keyboard, but it’s so much better than Apple’s. I’ll give the built-in one another go if they implement haptic feedback and have an emoji search (it’s built into macOS, why not iOS?).
