I love the Magic Mouse. I think it’s great but I wonder if apple would ever delve into two button mice? Does anyone want a Magic Mouse-pro?

Perhaps it could just ”know” which finger you’re pressing with and like that it would have more than one button While still retaining all of the magic swipe/gestures it can currently do?

and even my thumb could have “extra choices” because it would also recognize that as a “different finger” and act accordingly to how I set the “Macro” (hehe Mac) anywho, discuss :)

I think macOS is designed first for trackpads, with mice secondary (but mostly) equal. So I would not expect Apple to put out a new fancy mouse.

You mean like it's done since the first version of the touch Magic Mouse, 11 years ago?

I’m fine with the Magic Mouse - mostly - if they’d simply make a more hand shape conforming version.
The low height, flat top and sharp sides just don’t work for me.

I “can” use it...but don’t enjoy much after a while

I'd potentially be interested in a Pro Mouse option, but whether or not I would buy one would depend upon ergonomics and how it can compare to the Logitech MX Master 3. My inclination is that Apple would never develop a mouse with even remotely comparable egos as such things are hideous from a cosmetic perspective and complicated for some users, and Apple tends to prefer mice that look attractive and are simple to operate.

The big problem with that is that it can't handle both virtual buttons at once. If you press down on both the left and right sides, only a right click is triggered.

That seems to be a different issue than the one he was addressing, and probably one not as important to many users. I’ve never in my life wanted to right-click and left-click at the same time, but the Magic Mouse always knows which I intend.

I've used a computer with a mouse since my parents bought an LCII, in the early nineties. I've worked with computers for nearly 20 years... I can't recall a single instance in that time, where I would have a reason to click both buttons at once.

Many times while gaming you will want to click both.

Indeed, it's in games that I notice its absence.
Fair point. I'm not a gamer, so that's not a consideration for me. Input devices are very individual considerations, as evidenced by the fact that those who prefer "hand" mice find the Magic Mouse uncomfortable while those of us who prefer "finger" mice may like it. Either way, I think it's due for an update, whether or not simultaneous left and right clicking is a priority.

No one said it had to be wireless (could have the option to plug in a wire or not perhaps giving the best of both), besides, wireless mice are basically perfect at this point and the old adage of getting a wired mouse now is more for convenience sake (not having to charge the battery)

You’ll find that the top most premium gaming mice now are actually wireless with the option to choose a wired format.
