My battery is perfectly fine. I will go to use the phone and somehow it is off. I never turned it off, but it is off. I have to power it back on. Is anyone else experiencing this? It has happened about 5 times now. At first I thought it was an app I downloaded, but I wiped it clean and it still does it.

I have a genius bar appointment for Sunday to swap it out.

I had one random reboot with my iPhone 13 Pro 6.1. But haven’t had it more than once.

The thing is, it’s not even a reboot. It turns all the way off and I have to manually reboot it.
I just hope they have some replacement stock at the Apple store tomorrow.

Happened to me today. Left it on the dresser and took kids outside for about an hour. Came back in to it fully off. Let me know if they have stock to swap when you go in, may try and swap mine.

Good luck with getting a replacement. There is no stock at any Apple Stores right now. That is what I hear. It will be weeks before there will be more stock is available. After the initial pre-order people are having to wait weeks for the next wave of orders to be filled.

I hope they can do something. I don’t care if lend me a 12 max pro, just until they can order me a new one. Three times today I’ve gone to use my phone and it’s off. It is very frustrating.

That does not sound good. Might be good to open a case with Apple Support just in case. Have you noticed your phone getting hot, that would be a case where the phone would shut down if it got too hot.

Nah, it isn’t getting hot at all. It’s strange. I have an appointment at Apple tomorrow evening. I can just hope they have a “replacement” stock. I know they used to keep extras of new phones that weren’t for sale, in the event that someone needed a repair.
Or…they can just order me a new one, give me a phone to use, and whenever it comes in, it comes in.

Ya gotta hand it to Apple. They do customer service right. Apple makes sure they have some new devices in stock for the inevitable defective units that need to be replaced.

Contrast that with Google and the Pixel 5. I bought one online direct from Google and it lasted less than 12 hours before I got a thick pink line of dead pixels up the left side of the screen. I went online using their chat feature to organize a replacement. They gave me a link to order the replacement instead of them handling it, but whatever. I went to the link and it was dead. I thought Google WAS the internet! The support folks on chat were awesome. Quick to grasp my issue and authorize a replacement. But for whatever reason, and after getting three dead links in a row, they said to wait a week to order my replacement. A week??!! Without a working phone? So I wait the week and try yet again to order and I learn the link was only good for 72 hours. But they said to wait 7 days. So forget getting a new Pixel 5. I went back to the chat feature and changed my replacement to a refund. Once again, the support folks were polite and sympathetic. They went about organizing my return and refund right away. And the confirm email with RMA instructions arrived in less than 12 hours. Here's the capper - Google wanted to charge me a $35 restocking fee! For a busted phone they can't put back into stock (I hope!). Are they mad? Charge a customer for returning a defective phone?? I'll give them this - Google has a set of balls! Eventually they reversed the "restocking fee" probably because they couldn't find even a convoluted reason to keep it.

Lesson learned: I'm an iPhone guy. Macs at home, iPhone in my pocket. iPhones just plain work.

heyho, had the same problem. Had an appointment at the Apple Store Jungfernstieg (Hamburg, Germany) today. They took a look into the logs section and found 4 „panic“ logs there, so for every random shutdown one panic log. If you think you have the same problem, maybe look into your logs section (you have to scroll a lot) and check if there are panic logs. They exchanged my phone directly (even I didn’t bought it directly from Apple) and gave me some time to copy the eSim, etc. Very nice customer support

Just to add another data point to this topic:
I had been using a 6 Plus for 6 years still running on iOS 9 and earlier this year it randomly crashed and rebooted with me doing nothing unusual. It did this maybe four times in one month - then never did it again. It had crashed like that several years ago too - a few times - but then was solid as a rock for a few more years. So it’s hard to say exactly what the problem was.

I think it might be a software bug. I have the 13 pro (not max) and phone would reboot randomly with a full panic log, thought it was hardware so got it swapped out with a brand new unit. Guess what it did it again, the chances of two brand new units both having issues are so small, I think it might be an iCloud bug attached with my backup, just going to wait for the next iOS 15.1 update and see if that fixes it first. Oh and bug type is 210 for anyone interested.

It looks like you are experiencing a kernel panic. It is interesting that you have had it occur on both devices.

How are you setting up the phone?

Yep I think it’s a kernel panic too. With the replacement phone, I set it up as a new phone (skipping iCloud backup during setup), and then signing into my account once I am at the Home Screen so my photos/msgs etc would then sync. I thought doing this would solve the issue but to no avail.

To have 2 phones that kernel panic is really surprising. I don't even remember the last time I have ever had a phone reboot because if a kernel panic. If you set it up as new and it is having kernel panics again, get it swapped out for another phone. Apple will be able to run a diagnostic on the phone.

None of my previously iPhone ever did this. Having 2 phones doing the same thing leads me think it is a bug with something in my iCloud backup, I will wait until 15.1 comes out and see if that fixed anything before seeking another replacement.

Did you restore from iCloud backup? Maybe try backup to the computer, DFU, and restore from backup on the computer.

Not a full iCloud backup restore, just photos/msgs etc, still had to download all the apps manually and change the settings. Cheers will give that a go if all else fails. So far had my replacement phone for almost a week had one random shutdown.

Hi guys, I don’t know English very well cuz I’m from Russia, but I have also problem with IPhone 13 pro max. He just turn off for 3 times since I bought him. In tinctures it’s shown as panic full. Every time was bound with camera. (When I opened camera after 1-3 sec it’s reboot) But this reboot is faster than usual.
