I know using VPN on routers themselves is the only way to have Apple TV 4K 2021 tunneled securely at the moment. Does Apple plan on providing support for VPN software on Apple TV in the future?
Yeah I use DoH with NextDns on my Apple TV they make the process really easy it will bypass you Pi-Hole but NextDns has the same functionality plus more.VPN doesn't just spoof your location. It encrypts your connection end-to-end to prevent man-in-the-middle eavesdropping, manipulation, and/or attacks. When inspecting Apple TV 4K 2021 traffic, I encounter plenty of sensitive plaintext information, but most of it is from connections to services such as Amazon Prime.
BTW, is it possible to use DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) on Apple TV 4K 2021 directly? I use DoH via Pi-Hole, but I'd prefer to just use DoH address within Apple 4K 2021 itself (Network Settings DNS Line). Is that possible? I don't want to mess with it unless I know for sure.

Nextdns provides a profile for Apple TV specific for your blocklists took me less than a minute to setup. How? There is no way to input an HTTPS link in Apple TV network settings. Is it through one of those downloadable profiles methods?
My main concern is security and with Pi-Hole, plaintext DNS data still passes through WiFi and router before it gets encrypted via HTTPS and sent to WAN. With a direct HTTPS link, an encrypted DoH connection is established from the very beginning without any plaintext DNS queries sent over WiFi or WAN. If NextDNS can offer that, then it may be worth it, but I am not sure how. Apple TV requires an IP address for DNS network settings.
