As in opposed to replacing the entire phone, just get the screen replaced. Reason I don't want to replace the phone is because this one is a good, even display and I don't feel like playing the stupid screen lottery with replacement phones that are probably returns.

Dropped my phone face down last nice, chipped the glass on the edge. Nothing too bad, but something I would like to get replaced at some point down the line. I have AppleCare, but even the out of warranty cost of $129 isn't too bad if it's official Apple work rather than some third party kiosk. Some kind of 'glass polish' would work, too, if anyone knows anything like that.

Ask, I've never done a screen replacement before. They basically take the screen half off, and put a brand new one on? Same display you had (in terms of uniformities and such)? Looks good?

If you have a Apple Store near by, I would call and ask them. If not, put a screen protector on the screen and just use it that way till the screens are in stock.

Nobody offers OEM replacement screens yet. Once they become available, Apple and third party repair places replace the entire screen piece: glass, LCD, digitizer, everything. You can buy DIY glass-only replacement kits (doubt they have em yet for the 6S) but from what I've heard replacing the glass is nearly impossible without leaving imperfections.

I don't know if they are doing screen replacements just yet, so they might just swap your phone for a new one, be it refurbished or brand new. You will have to the check with the store.

As for the the screen replacement, the glass and display are fused together so they will replace the whole glass and display panel.
