In the past, I heard that when you bought a Macbook through apple certified refurbished, they would replace the entire outer shell each time. I also vaguely remember :apple: advertising that in their refurbished page. Now all it says is:
We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
Limited supplies, but updated frequently. Availability is guaranteed upon receipt of full payment.

No mention of replacing the case. Can someone confirm if they still do this? Also what else do they replace? (eg battery)

It says this on the refurbished iPad page:

We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished iPad models also include a brand new battery and outer shell.

I don't recall that Apple ever said the same for refurbished Macs, although I've never had one that arrived with any cosmetic issues(I've owned 3).

The warranty (new or refurb) only covers manufacturer defects. I'm not sure why they would replace the outer cover because that generally only gets damaged from misuse or wear and tear.

Did the case come to you damaged when you purchased it? If so call them up
