So today my earphones for my 3gs quit working. Well, the right one did. Does anyone know if my Applecare warranty will cover this? I'm two hours from an Apple store, but maybe they could send them? These things are in mint condition, I've only had them since June 19, and hadn't even used them until the last two weeks. Tried my wifes earphones from her iPod and they work fine. I do not want to drop another $30 on a set of earphones when mine should be working just fine, but I need the buttons/microphone on the Apple ones. Anyone make a successful warranty claim on a set of earphones?

Really disappointed in the quality of this device lately. Not sure if it's 3.0/3.1 or not, but I've been having all sorts of issues.

If you're that far from the store, call the 1-800 AppleCare number. They should be able to do everything through mail that the store can do.

    Right there
Yes, they should be covered. Not quite the same, but I had them warranty 3 sets of ear buds from iPods over the years. I can't remember the exact process, but I went to and clicked on support, put in the serial number, filled out some form and the next day I received an email stating replacements were on the way. 2 days later brand new ear buds arrived in the mail.

AppleCare will cover everything that came in the box with your Apple product. That means the device itself, earphones, USB cables, keyboards, mice, power cords, etc. If you need a replacement, give Apple a call and they'll mail you a replacement accessory.

I believe AppleCare accessories you buy for your device as well. That goes for Apple computers, etc. So if you buy a Mac, the Airport Base Station, etc. will be covered under the Mac's AppleCare. So I'm sure the same applies for the iPhone: docks, earphones, in-ear earphones, USB cables, chargers—all should be covered, even if bought post purchase (not at time of iPhone purchase).
