You all are quite funny to me. You realize youre telling someone on the internet that they should be ashamed? They obviously do NOT care what you THINK. He asked a question and that should be the end of it. Again, he DOES NOT care what you think of what he is planning, or if you think he should be ashamed...move on and don't sweat the petty stuff...and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

Hey, how bout you turn your avatar's finger around:rolleyes:

I am sure this is not the first time you've committed fraud then...The arrogance is very telling.

I'm not making believe the iPad is broken, it is. How it got broken doesn't matter, to me or Best Buy. Therefore it isn't fraud. How many times does this need to be explained to you. Get lost, mind your own business.

It's a public forum and you asked the question PUBLICLY.

I guess we'll see tomorrow if the serial numbers match.

I didn't ask for opinions, I asked for answers. Thanks to Sapporobaby I found out the serial number is also on the back of the iPad, so I'm good if they need to match them.

lol, are you guys really serious with this? None of you have ever returned something knowing that it's kinda your fault that it's broken or messed up in whatever way? Do you guys download music or movies?

Judgment to this extent on an internet forum is kinda ridiculous.

Anyway, the BB near my house doesn't check serial numbers AT ALL. I only know this, because I had a problem with my iPod, took it in, they just gave me another one within a good minute or two of me telling them the problem. My iPod was in front of me the whole time.

Also, it was the second time I had a problem with my iPod and they gave me a replacement the first time as well. I presented them with my original receipt for the original iPod. The one I had in my possession the second time obviously didn't match.

maybe you are the first to pull this stunt ... just incase you are not, never hurts to have your spare credit cards and spare id with you.

good thing you did not buy it in your name?

I would agree, judgment of other is always pointless, online or IRL.

Actually, I would not be shocked to discover there is no bricked iPad at all, and this entire thread is just for yucks. Or, who knows, maybe he did fry his iPad and is trying to work up the stones to return it.

To summarize: "meh".

Deliberate falsification with intent to defraud is a misdemeanor in many states, punishible by heavy fines and incarceration.

Enjoy your bricked iPad in your prison cell.

There is absolutely NO way that Best Buy would bother trying to charge him, if, in fact, he was trying to commit fraud.

At the most, they'll turn him away.

Seriously

yes they do check serials ... to prevent people pulling whatever scam you are doing ... fail

well to be honest I know apple doesnt, so I would bet best buy doesnt either. Iv returned 2 different ipads and one time the guy didnt even open the box, the other time he opened it then shut it without even checking it out. But anyway it sounds like the OP is trying to pull a scam.
