Does Bonjour work over an iPhone tethered internet connection?

Macbook Air connected to iPhone 4 3G wirelessly + HP D110 connected to iPhone 4 3G wirelessly.

I can't install the printer that way (even if I manually enter the IP of the printer...it tells me it's busy, which it's not...it's just sitting there).

Does Bonjour work over a connection like that? I can't get it to show up.

If you tether, I *think* you will get an external IP address (from your iPhones provider), rather than an internal 192.168 address which I presume is what you need?
