Is it an "invasive" process that terminates your limited warranty and eligibility to add applecare one? Or because it is an official OEM screen from Apple and the display changeout is simple, it isn't invasive?
Official Apple support pages describe self service repair as providing access to genuine parts for out-of-warranty repairs, but reliable sources (including reports from Apple's 2022 program launch) confirm that using official Self Service Repair parts and following procedures preserves your remaining warranty coverage. I do not know whether it prevents you from purchasing new AppleCare coverage. I also think that your self installed screen will no longer be covered by AppleCare, but unrelated problems will be fixed if they are covered.
