Does coconutBattery only work on MacBooks?

I downloaded coconutBattery on iMac to examine iPhone battery health, but the app crashes and wouldn't open. So I was wondering if the app only works on mobile Macs?

It worked for me on my iMac. I don't use the app, but I downloaded it and it didn't crash.

Where from? It doesn't come up in the App Store.

The latest version for OS X is supposed to show battery condition for connected iOS devices, but my iPhone 3GS doesn't show. probably too old.

It'll work on a desktop Mac but will crash if you happen to have a UPS connected to the Mac via a USB cable. The workaround is to unplug the USB cable when you run Coconut Battery.
