Does contributing lose your rank?

I would be fine contributing to MacRumors but one thing caught my attention.

Will we lose our ranks?🙁 Meaning, let's say I have the 6502 rank. Would I lose that and it would be replaced with Demi-God?

Any chance we could keep our ranks and put the contributor title beneath the rank? 😕

If you contribute you can ask to have the rank remain instead of having the Demi/Contributor title.
