It differs in that some calls ring and all the others don't.

Ahh this would make more sense. It sends them straight to voicemail to my knowledge.

They also hidden the scheduling settings in the Notification settings. Maybe they will move it in 6.1?

DND will send the caller directly to voicemail. Just like if you hit the FU button.
