Does DVDs from ISO play on a dvd player?

Does it work to burn dvd videos with disctools in OSX?

I got an ISO image of a dvd, containing video_ts and audio_ts folders. I burn this to a dvd-r with disctools. Will it play on standard dvd players then?

Or is there some unknown factors getting in the way, of my disc being recognized as a proper dvd movie?

It should do, although it may depend if the original dvd was had copywrite protection.

It really depends on the player. Most newer ones will have no trouble.

I often save iDVD projects as Disk Images(ISOs), and then burn to disc using Disk Utility. I've not had a problem with them not playing.
