does email come with the iphone service?

    hey i just got the iphone on monday i ported my number from verizon and you know how u hve ur own email address like mine was mynumber@vzwpix.com...does the iphone and att come with a standard email address like mynumber@att.com or something?? any response would be greatly appreciated! and i did search before i made this thread also!!

    SMS charges may/probably apply. Seems a bit silly with unlimited data. Hopefully I'm wrong about that though.

    Just use yahoo or gmail.

    so can like someone send me a picture to that email address and i can check it on my phone? cause i know the iphone doesnt support mms .... sorry this is all new to me lol

    ohh ok i figured that out but if someone were to send a pic to my number how would i be able to view it or is that not possible?

    It's supposed to work like that but so far it hasn't worked for me. :(

    If they send a photo to "number@txt.att.net", it won't work. That address is for SMS texts only.

    Is there an MMS address then? With the old iPhone people said you would be directed to the website to view the image this is not the case now.

    If someone sends you an MMS message on an iPhone, you get a text telling you to go to viewmypicture.com (?) which, since it's Flash based, won't work on an iPhone. When viewed on a browser, you get some this little picture you can't do anything with.

    Doesn't happen with me I get nothing. I used my friends phone sent a picture to my iPhone number and got nothing. This was 3 days ago.

    I am a huge .mac guy and at the moment I would use GMail over MobileMe until Apple fixes MM
