Does Facebook for iPhone keep you logged in?

Hopefully this is the right forum to post this, but whenever I'm on facebook, there are some people that are like ALWAYS online.

I was wondering if you have the facebook for iphone/android app installed, will it say you're online even if you're not on your computer?

For example, I never log out of my facebook for my phone, so even when my computer is off, if my phone is on, will facebook think I'm online?

If you do not end Facebook (Double tap home button, hit the - sign by Facebook), then yes, it will keep you logged in, provided it runs in the background
