MP 5,1 with 5770.
Primarily used for audio apps...
Logic, Digital Performer, etc.
I don't use it for games.

Would a better GPU increase my overall processing speed?

What specs/core speeds are in your current 5,1? Dual or single CPU configuration? Do you have an SSD for main OS drive? Using anything special for a scratch disk?

Probably better chance to get a speed/performance bump from those options than from a GPU for audio work, if you're looking at cost/benefit.

Yes, SSD and, possibly, CPU upgrade would be far more likely to be beneficial. If, for example, your 5,1 is a quad-core, you could drop in a hex 3.33 for $600 and see a significant boost in processing power. SSDs are also great for OS, samples and scratch drives. Don't forget RAM, too.
