Does HDMI support 1440p at 60Hz?

I have MBP touchbar 2016 and Dell U2515H 2K display. The monitor has hdmi, display and minidisplay ports.

Can i drive 1440p at 60Hz via Apple Digital AV Adapter's hdmi port?

Or should i use displayports? I have already apple av adapter and i dont want to buy a new adapter anymore. Does hdmi ports works about this?

Yes, I get 1440p@60z using Apple Digital AV Adapter and Apple HDMI cable on my U2715H with 12" rMB.
