Does iCloud back up in the traditional sense?

Hi. Does iCloud back up in the traditional sense? By that I mean, does iCloud back up multiple versions of my Notes, Pages, or Numbers documents as they change AND retain them like, say, Time Machine? If so, how do I restore a given version of one particular document?

I'm quite sure they have multiple versions backed up on their network side, but no, there is no front-end for users to retrieve old versions.
