Does image rentention get worse over time?

I have a macbook retina and it has IR. Can someone run this real world test and tell me their results ?

loading appleinsider.com, leaving it up for about 10-minutes, then loading daringfireball.com

On my ipad 2 the IR went from barely noticeable to extremely bad within 6 months of owning it.

so doesn't matter what apple product ? signs of IR on apple product will get worse ?

yes, it will get worse....
I had no image retention on my laptop in the initial 2 weeks.. it started after 2 weeks.. It still wasn't that bad so i decided to give it a try...
But now if I open verge.com for just couple of minutes, then minimize the browser, I can see an image of the verge.com site on the galaxy wallpaper ... I have scheduled an appointment with an apple genius to get it fixed....
